Historic Buford, Ga.

Known as the ‘Jewel of Buford,’ the exquisite Bona Allen Mansion is one of the city’s most beloved and well-used historical sites. Bona Allen was a well-known man who began the tannery business in Buford in the late 1800’s. Business was booming and Allen soon was one of the wealthiest men in the Southeast. In 1911, Allen and his family built the elegant Bona Allen Estate. Since then it was completely restored in the mid 1980’s, and now acts as an event center for weddings and other events, a place for locals to brunch and offers tours on the history of the estate.
