Friday May 27th 2016 is National Heat Awareness Day, which got us thinking about the much warmer weather we know is just around the corner here in Georgia. This is a very popular for people to move, especially if they have school-age children, because of the summer break. It is also a time to pay special attention to your health if you are planning to move, as an increased stress level weakens your immune system regardless of the weather. Here are some ways to combat the heat during your summer move.
Hire A Professional: Moving companies are the experts at re-location; it is our job, after all. Do not add even more stress to an already stressful time in your life by trying to do everything yourself. Hire the experts at RNR Moving, and take a load off.
Let The Water Flow: Keeping a water bottle handy will remind and encourage you to drink. You will be so busy with everything on moving day, it is easy to forget to drink your 8 glasses of water. By always keeping a water bottle handy, you will be more likely to drink.
Avoid The Junk: We get it; it can be so tempting to eat pre-packaged “junk food” that is very unhealthy for you when you are pressed for time, but try to plan ahead and even consider packing a lunch on moving day. You will feel better and have more energy!
Take A Break: Be sure to schedule in a time (even a short time) to take a break. Allow RNR Moving to handle the unpacking of your items as you eat a picnic lunch on your new front lawn. It will help your stress level, and your sanity.
Stay Organized: Consider putting someone in charge of keeping the walkway clear, or checking the schedule. Keep all of your necessary supplies (hammer, tools, tape, etc) in one place so they will be easy to find if needed. Also, designate a space for essential items like purses and car keys so there’s no confusion at the end of the day.
